Harness CGI hybrids to problem solve

Blink have been working across a range of photography projects with the Belfast bedlinen company Bedeck for many years, establishing a strong and collaborative creative partnership along the way.

The Challenge

Following the impacts of Covid, Bedeck experienced an influx of previously delayed products which increased shot count forecast. This created a significant logistical challenge to meet project deadlines, and Blink were asked to explore and develop a creative solution to meet the volume increase.

Our Approach

Building on our existing knowledge of the Bedeck’s photography style, we collaborated to develop a CGI/photography hybrid approach.

To achieve this, we adapted our studio photography to enable the overlay of photo-real CGI rendered products and propping. By doing this we could source product information directly for CGI and remove the need for live sample management. As project success grew, we then migrated to a full CGI solution, to resulting in a number of project benefits: Image consistency was maintained, no sample management or delivery costs, no extra set-build costs, unplanned volume increase was efficiently managed.
